There are numerous places that you should visit in Hawaii, in order to truly understand the beauty that the island holds. The ‘Big Island’ is a must see for most people simply because it is the largest island within Hawaii and offers not only more shopping and things to do, but is also home to the Kilauea volcano. Those who are feeling a bit risky and adventurous can actually drive towards the volcano and see the flowing lava, which is a huge kick for those interested in science. This is a great opportunity for those kids that are just beginning to understand the many marvels of nature. You can also take advantage of the numerous national parks that contain volcanoes to further your knowledge and get some amazing tales to take home.
A great opportunity if you find that it crosses your path is to fly into the island at night, so that you can truly see a magnificent sight as many have described it as even more breathtaking that seeing the island in the daytime. The “Big Island” is also home to many dolphins and whales, and offers different climates on each side of the Island, and is full of fun and adventure for all.
The beaches are a must see while in Hawaii, and are more than likely the reason a lot of people decide to visit Hawaii in the first place. Remember, that every beach is different and offers a visual that is incomparable to the next beach. Hapuna Beach is known for the long, white sands that it offers and it is ranked highest among all those beaches in the United States because of the beautiful sands that appear to be clean and tidy. For those wanting a snorkeling experience, Pu’uhonua o Honaunau is the place to go as it offers clear waters that will let a person see for depths on end and all the wildlife that is in the area.
The east side of the Big Island offers its own set of visuals for a person to see, however, the east side is known to be the more rainier and damper side of the island, while the west side is known to be sunny. This needs to be taken into consideration if you are traveling between the two in order to dress appropriately. The east side is home to two mountains, the wide Mauna Loa and the tall Mauna Kea, which is snow covered. Taking the time and energy to climb these will give a person a breathtaking view that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
The west side of the island offers more cuisines to choose from and is home to the Hawaiian party buffet called “luau”, in which people can eat and celebrate with one another for the ultimate party atmosphere. The luau is an experience that most people recommend for everyone to try just because it is so unique. Overall, the west side has a more city feel to the area, which means for those that are traveling alone, this is where the single scene is going to be located.
